How the Call In Works

All performers with the exception of the Weeklong Workshop Participants and the Workshop Teachers need to call and register to perform.

We do not choose the dancers, the phone company will determine who is next in line. Keep Calling until you get through. At RAKKASAH Festival we DO NOT charge dancers to perform. The day they dance they get into the festival for free!! We encourage dancers of all levels and ages to perform on our stage. All styles, interpretations and/or fantasies are welcome as long as you remember that this is a family show.

However we do have a few edicts and a few suggestions for those who wish to dance at Rakkasah.

Do not call before 9am East Coast Time on February 10

You can only reserve one (1) dance spot per phone call.

Solo, Duo and Trio performance times are 7 minutes - no longer.

Troupes (four or more) performance times are 15 minutes - no longer

Warning - If your dance runs over the allotted time you will be subjected to having your music turned off and your performance ended - we must keep it fair to the other dancers and keep the show as close to ‘on schedule' as possible. (Thank You)

If you dance in a troupe, all members may participate in the call-in.

For Solo Dancers - Have all information ready - your legal name, your dance name and how you choose to spell it, address & phone number.
For Group Dancers - Have the troupe name, director's stage name, phone number, address, number of troupe dancers, and what city you wish to be listed from.

If you are performing with a troupe you may not dance a solo spot, however you may dance with as many troupes as you wish.

Getting through the phone lines can be a tedious and frustrating experience but for those of you who get through the feelings of gratification are immeasurable.

**Tips***

Start calling at 9am and don't give up.

Use the redial button.

For your convenience use a speaker phone, when we pick up the line we will try to get your attention - if you are not there we will need to hang up.

Each person who calls should have all the needed information at hand to make the process as quick and painless as possible.

If you do not get through until after the program is full, please leave your information on the answering machine, it's a slim chance but sometimes people have to drop their spots and we give them out on a first come first serve basis.

Good Luck and See You at the Festival
